Besides just setting your alarm to wake up as your busy fall schedule gets going, set your alarm to also remember to praise the Lord and keep your perspective focused on Him.
As my day gets going, I stay pretty busy with tasks and what’s next on the schedule. I use my alarm to remind me of appointments and my to-do’s, but I realized that I can also let my alarm be a reminder to focus on praise and worshipping God. I started noticing Scriptures that talk about praising God multiple times a day:
ONCE “Every day I will bless you and I will praise your name forever and ever.” Psalm 145:2 (NAS)
TWICE “They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the Lord, and likewise at evening...” 1Chronicles 23:30 (NASB)
THREE TIMES “Evening, and morning and at noon, I will pray and cry aloud and He shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17 (NKJ)
SEVEN TIMES “Seven times a day I praise You, because of your righteous judgments.”
Psalm 119:164 (NASB)
CONTINUALLY “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Ps 34:1 (NASB)
So that’s not just in morning devotions, and definitely not just on Sundays! So how do we live out these scriptures every day? Use your alarm! Set an alarm for lunch time or 3 in the afternoon. Don’t forget to label the reminder or you will forget what’s it for, like - ‘Worship God’, or ‘God is trustworthy’, or ‘sing a song’ or I have 1 at 8 pm labeled ‘Laugh and praise the Lord!’ If I really want to try and live out worshipping Him seven times a day, I set my alarm for 8am, 10am, noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm. But If I want to try to do it CONTINUALLY, I set it for every hour! When the alarm goes off, I just take a moment to stop and offer a praise to God. My children get involved because they are often the ones turning my alarm off! It’s a lot to keep track of every hour day after day, so I often rotate days with different alarms. When I do put this in motion and set my alarms, it is amazing how it goes off right when I need it to, right when I need to stop for a moment and remind myself that God is greater than all my problems and doxycycline-info.net. I encourage you to try it!
Thought for the day: Let your alarm help you remember how great your God is.
Prayer: I praise You Lord for being sovereign over all my issues in my life right now. I trust You. Amen.
