“Worry” by Blanca
“Sometimes my mind is my own worst enemy. Sometimes my eyes trust only what they see. But have You ever run out of faithfulness? Have I ever needed more and gotten less? No, You always come through, so I won’t worry what tomorrow brings. Your love’s got a hold on me. And You won’t let go through the highs and lows. I won’t worry what may come my way, ‘cause I believe every word You say. I don’t have to be afraid.”
Are you someone who tends to worry? We all have to fight worry from time to time. And we’ve got some powerful weapons to use to fight it. We’ve got the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God—when your heart wants to worry, run to his Word and read his promises. (Ephesians 6:17) Use the power of prayer – “pray in the Spirit on all occasions and with all kinds of prayers and requests.” (Ephesians 6:18) And don’t forget your shield of faith—use it to extinguish the fiery arrows of worry that the evil one sends your way. (Ephesians 6: 16) Be bold and tell the devil to run away from you, as it says in one of the other songs this session. God is with you. You can trust him. He has always been faithful. Sing this song and hum the tune all day long and the Lord will bring you his true joy as you trust in him.
Ephesians 6:16-18 “In addition to this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for God’s people.”
Matthew 6:25-27 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life.”
