Carolyn’s heart has been with Body & Soul for many years, with her first tenure on the Board in the 1980s. Carolyn is an attorney, most recently teaching international lawyers in the LL.M. program at Georgetown Law. Through the years she has been involved in leadership in education, in outreach through church and missions in Central America and China, and as an organizer for a community build in South Carolina. Carolyn and her husband Jack are blessed with three adult children, two daughters-in-law, a new grandbaby, and nine chickens. Aside from Body & Soul, Carolyn loves hiking, kayaking and biking.
Jeannie is the President Emeritus and Director of Spiritual Impact of Body & Soul Fitness. She and her husband Roy founded Body & Soul in 1981. She is an author and speaker, who treasures first her role as wife, mother of three and grandmother of eight. She enjoys speaking on behalf of Body & Soul, sharing the message of faith & fitness. She is a certified fitness professional and presenter for the American Council on Exercise and has spoken and led fitness workouts for the IDEA Health and Fitness Association, and at numerous women’s conferences around the U.S. and the world. She has been a guest of Focus on the Family, Janet Parshall’s America and numerous radio talk shows.
Roy is the co-founder of Body & Soul, a businessman and IT professional. He has worked as a sales executive, President of Body & Soul Ministries (1981-89), trained exercise instructors for certification, has owned a franchise, freelanced as a computer programmer and database developer, worked for the federal government in IT management, and markets health products. He has a degree in economics and has done extensive graduate work in economics, exercise physiology and computer science and held a certification as a Database Administrator. He served more than a decade as deacon and elder in his church. He was honored with the US Attorney General’s Award for IT Excellence, won a sales rookie of the year award at Xerox and has been a guest on Focus on the Family and Janet Parshall’s America. He has been married to Jeannie for 46 years, is a father of three, and a grandfather of eight.
Anita earned her bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Moody Bible Institute. She is married to Steve, who is the senior pastor of Community Church of Greenwood in Greenwood, Indiana. They have three teenagers, all born in Williamsburg, Virginia, which is where Anita was introduced to Body & Soul as a student, then became an instructor. She knows how challenging, yet important, it is to take care of your body and your soul. She is everyone’s favorite accountability partner, she is pleasantly persistent, and is a gifted encourager. She is the owner of a small business that specializes in cleaning and organizing.
Ruth Ann Dreyer
Ruth Ann is Regional Director for the South Central region of the US and co-Program Director for our Gold program. She is approved to teach all six Body & Soul programs and currently teaches Cardio/Strength, Gold, Dance Blast, and Power Strength/Flexibility Fusion at five Oklahoma church locations. Dr. Dreyer is retired from her position as Vice Chancellor for the Oklahoma Higher Education System. She has and continues to serve on several nonprofit boards and committees including the Board of Development for Oklahoma Christian University. Her home church is The Springs in Oklahoma City.
Stephi, a Virginia transplant from the West Coast, has been a Body and Soul student, off and on, since the early days of the ministry. When she moved from Northern Virginia to Williamsburg, she shared a Body & Soul video with Amy Stafford and joined the first Williamsburg class when it began in 2001. Stephi was actively involved in Crown Financial Ministries, with her husband Ron, from 1986-2006, where she served as an administrative assistant, trainer, budget coach, teacher and mentor to staff wives. Mentoring women as been the specific call on Stephi’s life for over forty years. She enjoys traveling (especially visiting any of her 23 grandchildren), taking long, long walks, Amy’s exercise classes, pickle ball and watching women come alive through the study of Scripture.
Body & Soul Fitness has been a part of Betsy’s life since 1981 when she was invited to a class in Northern Virginia. In 1985 she started teaching and has taught for the last 30 years. She has held the position of Group Fitness Instructor, Area Director, Regional Director, and currently serves as Human Resources Director. She is a Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Betsy is married to Pat, who is a former Board member. They have been married for 38 years and have 3 married children, and 8 grandchildren.
Amy is the President of Body & Soul, teaches continuing education courses as the Director of Fitness Programs, and serves as the Power Strength Program Director. She is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, having worked in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation clinics, private practice training studios, public gym facilities, and owner of a personal training LLC. She has taught Body & Soul classes for 15 years, to include Cardio Strength, Power Strength, and Boot Camp programs. Amy has been married to Steve for 25 years and they have one daughter, Jordan. Amy’s church family and the host location for her classes is the Williamsburg Community Chapel.
Steve currently serves as an Ex-Officio member of the Body & Soul Board. He is married to Amy, and they have one daughter, Jordan. Steve has served for several years on various interdenominational local not for profit boards and one international advisory board. He has also held various leadership positions in his volunteer work including the position of treasurer and chairman of a private Classical Christian school, as well as an Administrative Elder and Chairman of a local church’s Elder Council, now in his sixth year. Professionally, Steve is a registered Professional Engineer, employed by the College of William & Mary as the Senior Civil/Structural Review Engineer for the Code Review Team.
During Body & Soul’s first year of ministry, Anne, a busy pastor’s wife and mother of four children, became a student. The next year the rapidly growing ministry recruited her as a teacher. The years that followed found Anne in the position of Master Teacher, taking the very first ACE certifying exam, working in the Body & Soul administrative office, writing devotionals, working behind the scenes on the production of two Body & Soul exercise DVD’s, and serving on the Board of Directors for many years.
